Celebrating Te Matatini with Ngāti Kahungunu
Te Matatini is pleased to support Kahungunu-led initiatives as part of the national festival in Hastings, Feb 22 – 26, 2017.
Ngāti Kahungunu has planned a number of major events to celebrate its host responsibilities for Te Matatini.
“They’re bringing together a kaleidoscope of culture, commerce, craft and communities from throughout the world to complement the principal event of Te Matatini,” said Te Matatini CEO, Carl Ross.
While the tribe’s hospitality will extend to all visitors to the region, an exclusive VIP experience has also been incorporated through The Pāua Club. This offers first-class attention for corporate and international visitors attending events leading up to and during Te Matatini and includes:
- Kahungunu Taikura Kuru Pounamu Exhibition, Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga Gallery, Hastings from Feb 4
- Waitangi Day, Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park, Hastings on Feb 6
- Te Herenga Waka Festival, Napier Foreshore on Feb 11 – 26
